I am NOT a winter person. I love Spring! The most beautiful sight to see in the middle of winter is the sun coming in through the skylight. When the snow piles up on the roof and covers the skylight, it is so dark in the house. Dreary and depressing and the last thing one needs living in the Pandemic and sticking close to home for almost a year now.
BUT…after the overnight ice storm which left a coating of ice on everything, the sun came out just a little bit ago. So I went outside to snap a few pics. The dogs had to go with me because the last half dozen trips outside weren’t enough for the poor darlings. They’re not a fan of being restricted to the paths they made in the snow. It’s still too deep for them to run like crazy out back–which is their usual MO. 😉
The snow is still pretty deep here…we didn’t have the umph to shovel from the back door to the gate by the south-side of the house! Sleet and more snow compacted what was there, and Lord was it cold!
But after last night’s freezing rain/ice storm, the temps are a bit warmer–above 30 degrees–which is why the crabby-apple tree branch looks wet where one of our Nuthatches is peaking around it at me while I snap his pic 😉
I didn’t realize he was even in the back bird feeder until after I looked at the pics to see which ones I would zoom in on and save…and there he was! Yeah, probably should have been wearing my reading glasses…but then walking is always a challenge if wear them! LOL.
It feels like Spring and I cannot wait! Only 32 more days (today doesn’t count because it’s already here!)
I turned in book 3: Tempering the Viscount’s Envy on Valentine’s Day and took yesterday off to do the taxes. Thank goodness for Turbo Tax! Today, it’s catch-up on SM and bills. But tomorrow I’ll be diving back into Regency England writing book 4: Redirecting the Baron’s Greed until 3pm because Wednesday (aka Miercoles) is Zoom Day with our daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons!!
