I cannot believe we’re so close to packing the car to head to New Orleans for the inaugural Book Lover’s Con! Jo Carol Jones and her amazing support staff have planned what will surely be the highlight of the year for many Readers and Authors.
This has been in the works since last year and with each month, I’ve been able to click off just one more item off my checklist getting ready to attend. I’m thrilled to be one of the author sponsors for the Faery Ball & Gathering (which happens May 16th, Thursday evening); the Romance Trivia and Signing (May 16th, Thursday morning); and the Historical Book Club Afternoon Social (May 17th, Friday afternoon)–as well as one of the authors signing at the Book Bash (May 18th, Saturday am).
I’ve already shipped off the 300 goodie bags for the Historical Book Club and Afternoon Social…check it out:
But since we’re driving, I’m bringing the 10 goodie bags for my table at the Faery Ball & Gathering Thursday evening with me…I’m going to let what’s inside be a surprise 😉
I’m bringing a case of my Sweet Short Military Novella: So Others May Live for the Romance Trivia and Signing on Thursday morning and 20 swag items: bead and lava rock bracelets designed and created by our daughter Jessi Admirand https://www.etsy.com/shop/neheleniawireworks
I was waiting to receive the 7″ Kindle Fire…the last item for the Raffle Basket I’m donating. Here’s the updated pic of the Kindle in the birch bark basket of my bestselling series: the first 4 books in my Irish Western Series in large print, hardcover.
For the Book Bash signing, I’ll have a raffle basket on my signing table. So be sure to drop by and sign up for my newsletter to enter your name into the drawing. Name to be drawn during the Book Bash.
Now that I’ve taken the pics and updated my checklists and agenda, it’s time to enter the info and print it out for my totally fab clipboard…and yep, I really do use one. This year, I have a beautiful Cynthia Rowley clipboard I picked up at Staples last year or the year before. I do have a few LOL!
The oldest clipboard was my Grandfather’s when he was at RPI (aka Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) in Troy. He was a member of the RSE Fraternity and graduated in 1924. My Mom gave him his Frat Pin years ago. Check out the detail on this tiny pin! I never noticed the etched pictures on the front, or that his name and year was etched in the back (but I’ve been farsighted for a really long time). The pin is actually a bit smaller than a dime.
I looked up RPI for info on RSE and found out the fraternity was founded in 1866 and incorporated in 1873. My hubby found RSE’s motto: “In time through friendship, science and knowledge will rule the world.” The etched pictures on the petals around the perimeter of the pin perfectly match the motto: Hourglass (time); Handshake (friendship); Building (Science); Book (knowledge); Globe (world).
OMGoodness, did I get sidetracked or what??? Just a glimpse into how my mind works.
Okay…back to reality and the Countdown to #BLC19…We’re leaving on Sunday, May 12th…so today doesn’t count (because we’re halfway through it already) and the day we leave doesn’t count (because…well hey, we’re leaving that day) soooooo….11 days until we hit the road! LOL
